Day 28 – Redemption

Day 28 Grateful

Hello my pretties!  It is alive!  Finally.  I knew Christmas Eve would take a long term toll and it did.  After spending Christmas on the couch, I slept all day Tuesday.  I remember kissing Kathy kissing me goodbye about 7 while I was in the bed.  I got up at 11 to eat and was back asleep by 11:30 and finally got up at 4 in the afternoon.  Will was out having dinner with friends so Kat and I shared some left over prime rib and I was soaking in the tub by 8:30 to get back in the bed by 9:30. Will and Kat watched Planet Earth part 2 and I slept like a log!

Today Will and I got up early to take our cars in for service…so much fun.  We dropped his off and went to the Waffle House for breakfast.  It was pretty good.  I had a a scrambled egg, sausage, cheese and hash brown bowl and Will a chocolate chip waffle.  My taste buds are getting better every day.  We picked up Will’s car and dropped off mine and quickly returned home to the bed!  After all we had to get up by 7 but we were back in the sack by 11 and finally up about 3.  I think I am finally getting back to about normal but tonight should do it.  Of course my truck needed advanced repair.  It had a leaky seal on a fuel injector and when you are 18 years old with 230,000 miles you might as well do them all!  We get to pick it up tomorrow for a meager $1,000 but when you haven’t had a car payment in years what can you say!

Tonight we went to Keoni’s and Amy’s to spend some time with the other side of the family.  They had a bonfire and cooked hot dogs and chili with smores for desert.  I was nice to see them and all of the nephews.  They are getting closer to having their house rebuilt and hopefully we will see it by summer.  Kat and I cut out early because she came directly from work and I didn’t want to be out in the cold and damp too long.  Plus it’s going be another early night for me.

I got to talk to my friend Susie tonight on the phone and she is still suffering from the shingles.  She has had them for 2 months now, they are in her hand and she is in terrible pain.  She said Bernard has had so much experience as a nurse and house husband that he is hinting at a pay raise.  Please don’t tell him if he could just figure out the grocery store she might give it to him! If you think about it could you please remember her in your prayers.

It was a nice day, spending time with Will, seeing friends and being with family.  God has blessed me again today, I think and extra thank you is in order for my prayers tonight.  That’s about all today, I think that I am going to start writing this every other day for awhile because I am sleeping so much and I don’t want to run you guys off.  So good night and we will catch up soon!
