Day 22 – Three Weeks Past

Day 22

Can you believe it has been 3 weeks since I rang the bell and started this next phase. 10 weeks since we first started treatment.  I guess every other day for fluids, feeling like crap, sleeping around the clock and severe sore throat are easy things to forget from the last two weeks, but it seems like a lifetime ago.  It is like I take on the reality of where I am and it becomes my past.  This new period is sleep until sometime between 10:30 and 12:00, do something for a bit, eat dinner and write.  Soak every other night and repeat. It  feels like I have been here for awhile when, in reality, there are subtle changes going on.  Treatments change, I had to be really concerned about my gums, rubber pointing, swishing the baking soda and salt water 5 times a day. Now I just do it after meals and things are fine.  The burned skin took at least 4 treatments a day and now it is down to moisturizing twice a day. Nutrition was finding something to get down that would provide 2000 calories a day, today it is finding food with quality calories and taste. Sleep was that foam filled and waking up every hour and a half and now it is uninterrupted sleep.   The focus has slowly become detoxing, sleeping, soaking, eating the right foods, drinking plenty of water to flush the system and electrolytes to replenish.  Instead of sleeping around the clock it is recharge naps and not every day.  Instead of watching TV or reading it is time in the shop and running small errands.  You don’t see it happening it just evolves.

I guess the point is it is just like our day to day lives.  Things change, people come and go, priorities shift, weather changes.  We just have to realize that change is normal and learn to adapt to it.  Back to the One Day at a Time,do what yo need to do first, take care of yourself and be kind to others and the world is easy to adapt to.  That being said I am going to soak and sleep!
