Day 43 176lbs

today picking me up and urging me forward.  I appreciate it so much and really needed it.  No I’m not quitting or giving up, it is just that I  am at a really hard stage.  I have skipped and skated along with your help so far, I just didn’t expect the effects of six week of treatment and it literally kicked my ass.  I got caught up in the “end” without fully understanding what that really meant.  Doc Ilene reminded me this afternoon that the effects were cumulative and that I still have another 3 weeks before they stop working their magic.  The saving grace is that after tomorrow there will be no more additives and the healing process can begin.

After my 8 am treatment I struggled home to ice, slice, dice and and hit the sack.  I was back in bed by 9:30, turned on the heating pad and drifted until 1.  Lunch, get dressed and out to see Doc Ilene for a check-up.  She was blown away at how good I looked and that I had maintained weight from last week.  She urged me to keep up the good work and to lower my expectations.

Tomorrow is a bittersweet day.  Jan and Kat are meeting me after treatment and it is my day to ring the chimes.  So many of the techs stopped by during my treatment to find out what time it was going to be so they could be there.  I am really going to miss the caring and daily interactions with everyone.  I am just glad that I will be going back in a couple of weeks for the 1st follow-up.  That’s it tonight I am exhausted and need to spend some time with Kathy Lynn before we pass out…lol.  Goodnight Friends.

  1. Ring those chimes in honor of all those caring medical personnel who have helped you make it through this long and arduous process! And, Kat and Jan, perhaps most of all.
